I'm pleased to announce that I'll be reading four new poems at the private view on Friday 1st August and subsequent evening of Scotland in our Eyes Art Exhibition that have been written especially for the event.
I've been collaborating with artist, Constantine Anjulatos, who has created artworks from my poems. This has been a very interesting process for me to ensure that the images in the poems stand out and Constantine has done a terrific job of translating these into his artworks.
The exhibition runs from 1st to 8th August at the Crown Court Church of Scotland in Russell Street, London WC2B 5EZ.
Hope to see you there!
Hi ho Wordygirl- wonder if you could put me in touch with Tarquin- I understand he is descendant of Edwin, and want ask a favour; have exquisite m/media painting 'Rejuvination' or 'Scene above Clovelly' June 1817, is not signed- except with a curly, golden hair and root, 'arched' at top where plucked between forefinger and thumb and carefully laid upright in centre of drawing intermittently stuck down with paint. Richard Ormond will witness the hair's removal and sending for analysis if I can find the Artist's DNA. I'm not intending to sell the picture- I have others by Ned (inc Bronte sisters) is for a book. Ned could write too- an I sometimes do- inspired by Landseer- yurrs frem me to you:
ReplyDeleteThe Elusive Spark
Sometimes a spark is imagined,
Sometimes it comes from the sky,
Sometimes, a spark is no more than a flash,
And sometimes it made you and I.
I once saw a spark on a mountain,
A brief oddness me then declined,
The new thing then felt was me grieving,
For the glimmer all once failed abide.
When I squint I notice that sometimes,
As happens sometimes as I look,
It not be often, or ever if sometimes,
A spark lights Earth's misty outlook.
My hurry too trimmed me my eyes from the sides,
We miss you, all sparkle of light,
They say so soon Spark happens again,
This time, no glum hoods, will respite.
